We are also registered with the ICO and do not use it for anything other than what you agree for it to be used for. Our current ICO number is ZA123430.

What we offer

We offer the ability to compare non-investment insurance deals and contracts.

Our website is free to use and there is no direct charge from us to you for the use of our site. Any charges applicable to any service after use of our website will be outlined and made clear to you.

On submitting your details, both our partners and ourselves will contact you to start the process of finding your requested insurance. This will be carried out by telephone but email and text messages may also be used.

Our Responsibility

We accept no responsibility for the terms or conditions you accept when entering into a contract with a provider. Any problems that may arise from the agreement you enter must be taken up directly with the chosen provider.

Agreement

By using our website, you are providing SLGM consent to hold and process your provided data in order for us to provide you with our services. You also agree to allow our partners provide you with their quotations for your desired insurance policy.

By providing SLGM with your data, you agree to be contacted by us.

If you do not agree with these terms and conditions, then we ask you to refrain from using our website any further.

In a few instances within our website, we provide links to 3rd party providers where you can obtain services direct. We do not accept responsibility for any claims, statements, content or products provided by these providers.

SLGM Ltd use Google to provide us with useful information on user behaviour and patterns in order to better provide you with services in the future. This data does not identify you and cannot tell who you are. This data is not provided to any third parties either.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to our website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to ‘opt out’ of these uses. SLGM Ltd does not rent or sell personal information about customers or customer lists to third parties outside of the agreed data transaction.

What information does SLGM Ltd collect?

We collect information from people who complete online forms or send us emails to subscribe to our email newsletter. This information is collected for business purposes. We keep records of information that you have provided which may identify you, such as your name, address and contact details which you enter in a form on our website; information that you have provided in the form of feedback or email; and your permission to use your personal information for marketing purposes. It is not compulsory for you to provide us with your personal information which we may have been requested from you for us to perform a service for you, however, without the specified information, we may not be able to fulfil your request or provide you with the service you need.

Why is my data being collected?

We collect your data in order to be able contact you as well as to filter your risk profile to an appropriate broker that will be able to help you the most. Without collecting your data, we may not be able to contact you or allocate you to an appropriate broker.

What we do with data

– We use this information to enable us to contact you and discuss your requirements in a tailored approach.

How is my data protected?

Your data is protected from the first instance of integration with us. We use secure and SSL Encrypted sites (Green Padlock in the URL Bar), that ensures your data is safe at the stage of implementation and transferring into our system.

All staff have restricted privileges that prevent the downloading of data.

The system we use is FLG. FLG is a security conscious CRM system to which we keep IP locked only allowing access from with the SLGM Ltd registered office.

FLG is located within the UK.

We also block access to transfer sites in order to prevent data movement via the internet.

In the event senior management are required to download data for backup purposes. It will be stored on a secure hard drive locked within an onsite safe and not removed from site.

At the point of referring you to a broker, we also send an email with your details to the relevant broker via secure email transfer protocols.

SLGM have GDPR compliant agreements with the brokers we work with that break down the ‘Data Controller’ and ‘Data Processor’ roles and responsibilities. As the ‘Data Controller’, SLGM have agreements in place that prevent the broker as the ‘Data Processor’ from passing your data to third parties. In the event you take out a policy with the broker, they take on the role of ‘Data Controller’ where they become fully liable for your data and SLGM’s liability stops.

How long do SLGM hold data?

We will hold your data indefinitely unless you submit a request to be forgotten or have your details deleted.

Data Protection

SLGM Ltd’s Data Protection Officer is Michael Tribe. Should you have any requests for information on your details or would like to speak with him regarding data processing, please send an email to dataprotection@slgm.co.uk outlining your request.

Control of your personal information 

– Should you wish for your data to be deleted and for yourself to be forgotten, please email dataprotection@slgm.co.uk with a request for deletion.
– If you have agreed to marketing but have now changed your mind and would like this to stop, please email dataprotection@slgm.co.uk.
– Should you wish to know what data we hold on you, please email dataprotection@slgm.co.uk.
– If you have made a mistake in implementing your data, or suspect some of it is  incorrect, please email dataprotection@slgm.co.uk.

As per GDPR guidelines, we hold the right to refuse requests that we consider non-legitimate, manifested or excessive. SLGM also hold the right to charge for time spent handling your request should we feel it un-required. This charge will need to be paid upfront and is set at 2 hours at £55 an hour.
